And now for the details…
If you ever wondered if our team will travel outside of Wichita, the answer is that we love to…, especially for friends and family of past clients! We set out early in the morning to drive out to Excelsior Springs, Missouri with plenty of coffee in hand. While we were traveling, Kiernan and her gals had an early start to their day to get ready!
We love the deep green color and ruffle details on the satin robes the girls wore as they got their hair and makeup done. Graceful Beauty out of Kansas City did a fantastic job, and their hairstyles and makeup were flawless and timeless!
Kiernan was absolutely stunning. We were dying over her beautiful gown, which she found at the famous Kleinfeld Bridal in New York City (home of the hit show Say Yes to the Dress)! The lace detailing, full skirt, and train were definitely fit for a queen.
The moments after Kiernan put her dress on were filled with emotion. When your parents and loved ones see you as a bride for the first time, it’s truly so special!
It was finally time for Kiernan and David’s first look. They met in front of the Elms Hotel’s beautiful front entrance, and David’s reaction was so sweet!
After taking some time to soak in the moment, they took portraits outside in the beautiful fall weather.
We love a good veil shot! Sara Rieth Photography is wonderful at setting up romantic portraits like these.
David’s grey and black tux was complemented perfectly by his deep green jacquard tie!
Our favorite detail about Kiernan’s lush bouquet is the shape–it has a slight waterfall effect that’s enough to make a statement without being too dramatic.
Next, it was time for bridal party photos!
The guys were clearly having tons of fun. This is proof that bridal party photos don’t have to be boring for your bridesmaids and groomsmen!
Having your bridesmaids wear the same color of dress but allowing them to choose their own style of gown is a great way to ensure they’ll feel comfortable all day but still have a cohesive look as a group.
One of our favorite photo trends of 2022 was bridesmaids framing the bride with their bouquets… so pretty!
Before heading in to rest for the ceremony, Kiernan and David grabbed some quick photos with their immediate family. Kiernan’s twin brother helped her keep her train pristine while she moved around!
The ceremony room at The Elms Hotel featured a gorgeous limestone fireplace. It served as the perfect backdrop for the couple to tie the knot. Topped with a gorgeous floral mantelpiece by Good Earth Floral, it looked like it was straight out of a fairytale!
Kiernan opted to have both her mom and dad walk her down the aisle. If both parents were integral to forming you into the person you are today, we love the idea of having them both walk you toward your new future!
Kiernan and David commemorated their ceremony by braiding a unity cord (or a cord of three strands) to keep in their home.
After their first kiss as husband and wife, they headed out for some time together while guests went to cocktail hour!
The hotel provided yard games, appetizers, and a bar that kept guests of all ages happy and entertained! Meanwhile, Kiernan and David took a few more photos with the gorgeous evening lighting in the green area behind the hotel.
In the moments before opening the doors for guests, we lit all the candles and put the finishing touches on the reception!
We repurposed the mantlepiece from the ceremony to adorn the head table in front of where Kiernan and David would be sitting, and gorgeous floral compotes were on each guest table. Kiernan’s mom worked hard in all the months leading up to the wedding to design it all. And we set it all up so she could enjoy the morning with her daughter.
Once all the guests had found their seats, it was time to get the party started. Their bridal party kicked things off with a high-energy grand entrance!
After a fabulous plated dinner served by the hotel, Kiernan and David cut their cake. Fun fact: this was actually a faux wedding cake! There was a spot in the back with a real cake that they could cut into for their photos. The guests were served from sheet cakes.
Up next was their first dance. We love the effect Kiernan’s dress had when she twirled!
Their dances with their parents were so sweet to watch.
They kicked off the dance floor with a game that got everyone out of their seats to take photos with the bride and groom as fast as possible. Then they did an anniversary dance to honor all the married couples who were present.
They opted out of a garter toss, so when it was time for the bouquet toss, all of the single people at the wedding were invited to the dance floor, not just the ladies! It made for a fun photo op.
We’ll always fondly remember this wedding. And how honored we were when these two asked us to travel to Missouri to celebrate them. We would do it all again in a heartbeat! Kiernan and David, thank you so much for everything. We wish you a lifetime of happiness!
XOXO,
The Radiantly Curated Team
