Katelyn and Henry will forever hold such a special place in our hearts! They are so hospitable and kind, and working with them was so fulfilling and a great reminder of why I love my job. We got to spend the whole weekend with them! They had their traditional Vietnamese tea ceremony on Thursday and their church ceremony on Saturday followed by an amazing reception.
Read on to see our favorite moments and details from their wedding day!

For their tea ceremony on Friday, Katelyn and Henry kept things simple but elegant. They rented the Seasons Venue at OJ Watson Park and created a beautiful backdrop for their traditional ceremony. Le Luci installed draping and lighting and provided a tufted couch and gold rectangle stands that Grace Gardens KS attached baby’s breath and floral arrangements to.
Henry’s family processed into the venue delivering the traditional gifts to Katelyn’s family!
Their traditional attire was beautiful. Katelyn and Henry looked amazing!
Elders from each side of their family came forward to participate in the tea ceremony. They gave gifts to Katelyn and Henry, then they served their family members tea.
It was such a special afternoon. I’ll never forget how they teared up when Katelyn’s grandma gave her a beautiful speech!
On Saturday, the day began with gorgeous details and a morning spent with their best friends and family.
We loved the lace detaling and train on Katelyn’s gown!
Their first look and private vows were so sweet and special. Even though we couldn’t hear what they were saying to each other, you can bet our crew was looking out through the window to catch glimpses of this moment while we were setting up the decor. We teared up when Henry saw Katelyn!
After their first look, the whole bridal party headed to the church to rest before the ceremony.
The Church of the Magdalen is so breathtaking! We’ve had the honor of being here multiple times this year, and we’re always in awe of the beautiful architecture and serenity of the building.
After the ceremony, we helped corral family members for photos. They had a massive family with nearly 300 people in family photos, which is by far the most we’ve ever seen!
After the ceremony, the bridal party headed back to the reception venue to take their photos on location. While they prepped for photos, we put the finishing touches on the venue in preparation for guests’ arrival at the reception!
We loved the minimalist boho design that Katelyn chose. Le Luci and Free State Flora are a powerful team when it comes to wedding design, and they executed Katelyn’s vision so well!
One of our favorite things about The Highlands is that they have beautiful land on the property and plenty of places for photos. There’s no need to drive out of your way to a different location to take your couple portraits and wedding party photos!
You can just feel the love that Katelyn and Henry’s bridesmaids and groomsmen have for them. Witnessing these connections on such an important day is such an honor for us!
While photos were wrapping up, guests arrived for the cocktail hour. Katelyn and Henry joined them to take photos with each guest as they arrived, and then they made their grand entrance!
Black Tie Celebrations’s cold sparks add a fun flair to any special moment during your wedding reception.
After the grand entrance, each family member was introduced by name according to the Vietnamese custom. It was wonderful to see all the family that came to celebrate with them and how far they traveled to be there that day! After family introductions, Katelyn and Henry had their first dance on a cloud… provided by Pure NRG Productions and a high-quality fog machine!
After their dances with their parents, it was time for dinner! Corporate Caterers knocked the meal out of the park. It was a 7-course dinner with phenomenal Vietnamese cuisine, and my personal favorite was the lobster! While dinner was being served, guests sang karaoke, and Katelyn and Henry visited each table so their guests could toast them.
After visiting tables, Katelyn changed back into her American gown, and they kicked off the dance party by cutting their cake.
These guests partied hard and had a great time! The dance floor stayed packed up until everyone left. Pure NRG Productions and Kobe Steakhouse knew how to keep a party going strong!
We’ll remember this day and this wonderful couple for a long time to come!
XOXO,
The Radiantly Curated Weddings team
